Meet Blimey Limey and Sunshine (Sunny), a remarkable male and female budgerigar pair ready to bring joy to their new home—whether as loving pets or a breeding pair! At Green Acres 918, we’re the Brandon Andres & Laura Ann Green family, Tulsa natives and seventh-generation poultry farmers with a deep connection to budgerigar history. We’re friends with the family that originally popularized budgies globally, whose great-grandfather captured them in the Australian outback during lightning storms.... (read more) That legacy of passion and dedication lives on in our birds today.
About Blimey Limey & Sunny:
• Coloration: Classic wild-type budgerigars with vibrant green bodies, yellow faces, and black barring. Blimey Limey (male) has a bright blue cere, while Sunny (female) has a softer shade, typical of her sex.
• Age: Born around late September/early October 2025, they were old enough to be purchased on November 10, 2025, making them just over a year old—perfectly mature for breeding!
• Socialization: Blimey and Sunny are incredibly well-socialized, having had plenty of interaction with people and free-ranging experiences in a safe environment at Green Acres 918. They’re happy in a flock setting with our other budgies and our cockatiel, and they are used to being around humans, making them ideal as pets or breeders.
• Personality: Blimey Limey is curious, playful, and vocal—he loves to brighten anyone's day by chirping joyfully, and could become quite the talker with training! Sunny is more relaxed but loves to chirp, engage with her mate, and eat treats out of your hand.
Breeding Potential: As a male and female pair, they’re ready to breed and would be a great addition to a breeding program. Sourced from a reputable breeder in Beverly Hills, their lineage ensures strong genetics, and their classic green and yellow coloring means their offspring will likely carry those beautiful wild-type traits. They’ve been raised on a healthy diet of seeds, pellets, and fresh veggies, ensuring they’re in excellent health for breeding.
A Special Mission: At Green Acres 918, our birds do more than bring joy to homes—they serve as emotional support animals for victims of human trafficking. Blimey Limey and Sunny have been part of this healing mission, offering comfort through their gentle nature. By welcoming them into your home, you’re supporting a legacy of care and compassion that spans generations.

Green Acres 918 – A Tulsa Legacy of Budgerigars & Healing ??
Welcome to Green Acres 918, a family-run aviary in South Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where history, passion, and purpose unite to create a truly special bird-breeding experience. We are the Brandon Andres & Laura Ann Green family, proud Tulsa natives and seventh-generation poultry farmers, carrying forward over a century of expertise in raising healthy, vibrant birds.... (read more) Our farm’s name, Green Acres 918, reflects our deep roots in the Tulsa area (918 is our area code!) and our commitment to nurturing both our birds and our community.
Our aviary’s story is woven into the global history of budgerigars—we’re honored to be friends with the family that originally popularized these birds worldwide. Their great-grandfather, a true pioneer, would venture into the Australian outback, hiding under a bathtub during storms to capture budgerigars as lightning struck, a daring method that helped bring these beautiful birds to the world stage. That family still breeds parakeets today, and we’re proud to continue their legacy at Green Acres 918.
We raise a diverse flock, including a vibrant group of budgerigars, a charming cockatiel, and our poultry. Our budgies, like the breeding pair Blimey Limey and Sunshine (Sunny), are sourced from high-quality lineages—some tracing back to Beverly Hills breeders—and are raised with exceptional care. Each bird is nurtured in a spacious, clean environment at Green Acres 918, fed a balanced diet of seeds, pellets, and fresh veggies, and given ample opportunities to free-range safely, ensuring they’re well-socialized and full of personality.
What sets us apart is our mission: we raise and use our birds as emotional support animals for victims of human trafficking. Through their gentle nature and joyful presence, our budgies and cockatiel provide comfort and healing to those in need, offering a unique form of therapy that brings light into difficult lives. This purpose drives everything we do, from the way we care for our birds to the homes we seek for them.
Whether you’re looking for a loving pet, a breeding pair, or a bird with a meaningful story, Green Acres 918 has something special to offer.
