Buddy is about 37 years old. We got her at 2 years old when we were stationed in Las Vegas. She has never been sick. My husband passed away last October and this was his bird. Buddy is a man’s bird but tolerates me. I can talk to her and semi-pet her while she’s in her cage. She loves to be sprayed with water. I cannot take her out of the cage without her biting me. She loves her crest to be preened. She says “Hello Buddy, come here, meows like one of our deceased cats, calls for my daughter Henna, and a few other words. She screams and is very noisy. I play the radio for her during the day. She’s covered about 5:30 pm and when she wakes up I feed her seed, banana, veggies, and whatever human food we eat that’s healthy. She likes cashews, cauliflower, cheese, and rice. I have tried to get her to eat pellets but I’ve had no luck. I mix different seeds but have fed her a safflower diet with other nuts and seeds.
