This Harlequin macaw is the absolute sweetest bird that you'll find. She adores getting tons of hugs and love. Always want to be with someone no who it is. She's in heaven when you're her head. Has never shown any aggression . She has no problem with getting kisses from you, (has started learning to give kisses back. She's fine with you rubbing her face even if you want to pull her beak towards you so you can give her a kiss. Now that's a well trained bird.... (read more) When she's not with someone she likes to hang out on her tree stand and either look out the window, play with her toys or have a little snack. When she wants your attention she'll jump down to the floor and walk over to where you're at and look up at you. If you pay her no mind she'll start to mess with your shoes or pants to try and get your attention. When I look down at her she'll give me that baby look ( fluffed up all over her face with her head going up and down, just like when she was a baby and saw her mama, me, come up to her wanting you to give her loves, just so darn cute. Loves a variety of foods, nuts in or out of shells, pellets, dried fruits an veggies and loves fresh foods. She'll try just about anything. If you want to get the most gentlest large bird than she's right up you alley. Young enough to learn so much more. Harlequins are known for having a laid back and affectionate personalities. Good choice for those who would love a large bird with a calm demeanor. Highly intelligent, comical and strikingly beautiful. They thrive on and a lot of interaction with people making this bird a well family member. Also wanted to add: she's used to being around a German Shepard and a Pomeranian. She'll walk right past the little dog and will go over to her play area. One incident was pretty funny. My German Shepard was on the front porch looking in the window and the macaw went over to the windowsill. The dog put her nose right to the glass looking at her and she placed her beak right to the glass as well it's like they were nose to nose for-say.The moment I wish I had a picture of it was so cute. Another thing she's also used to being around other birds. She was raised up with her siblings.
I raise a variety of birds ranging from small to large. This is a hobby that I love and it shows in the birds that I raise. All my birds from breeders to the ones I have for sale get a lot of attention from me. I give them the best that I can. The buildings that the birds are located in is climate controlled, wall to wall carpet, running water with my art work painted on the ceilings / walls, these buildings also include a refrigerator.... (read more) So when you come to pick up a bird or if you need one shipped I will be more than happy to help you out. You will learn more from me then you would from any pet shop. The only problem you might have with me is I talk too much. Well birds are my favorite subject and I want to teach you as much as I can so that when you get home with your new bird you will know exactly what to do and what to expect. You might not remember everything I tell you so your more than welcome to check back with me for any information you might have forgotten. With my birds I know their birth dates and even know their history (what runs in their bloodline) see a pet shop can't tell you that. So I will end this conversation here and just keep in mind I'm the best breeder that you will find in VA at least I think so. Who else can put in as much love in the birds more than me. Oh one other thing I also sell cages (new and used) along with supplies. Every purchase and donations goes back towards the care of these birds plus the care for any rescue birds that I might end up getting. Without your donations it makes the simplest thing much harder. Winter time is the most expensive part of the year from running heat in each building plus trying to keep up with their diet when working hours can be cut. Thank you for your interest in my birds and may each one of you have a safe and blessed life.
