I have a proven female Scarlet Macaw and a male Blue and Gold Macaw for sale to a good home where they will be properly cared for. Their names are Scarlet and Mikey. When I first bought them they were not bonded, Scarlet was very tame and let me put a harness on her and she went everywhere with me. Mikey on the other hand was a bit offish, I found out after taking him to the vet to get his nails trimmed he has a fractured wing and thus cannot fly, but he would often dance and step up for me to take him to the outside aviary when the weather was warmer.... (read more) One day Scarlet laid an egg, then another, and then a third one. This is when they both went into mommy and daddy mode, all three eggs hatched and I now have three beautiful baby Catalina Macaws that are now 18 weeks old. I only want one macaw so I want to sell two of the babies and keep one of them. Even though this has been a wonderful experience, I didn't intend this scenario to happen. Mikey and Scarlet are bonded now and she keeps laying eggs but sadly the babies end up breaking them. They are excellent parents and did all the work feeding and caring for them. The babies are eating on their own now and are almost fully weaned. Even though I hate letting them go, I am not a breeder and I'm afraid keeping them will mean more babies.
