The jenday is one of the most friendly, affectionate birds I've ever been around. (The scratches on my hand are from my macaw's toenails, not the conure lol). She wants constant attention and loves to dance and give snuggles. She seems to love everyone. She is very loud when she wants to be, though. We haven't DNA tested but believe she's female because when she's feeling overly affectionate she sticks her butt out to you with her tail up - a classic sign of a female.... (read more)

The half moon, her partner, is of unknown gender. He is bonded to the jenday, they snuggle constantly, but we have no idea which gender he is without a DNA test. Same-sex bonds are fairly common in domestic parrots so that's not necessarily an indicator of gender. If they are opposite sex, they may be able to produce some beautiful hybrids, but I cannot guarantee of course. The half moon is not tame like the jenday, but he is much quieter.

This pair is best suited for someone experienced with the noise of a jenday or sun conure or someone living alone with experience training them. Probably not a good pair for a breeder.

I've had them both only for a few months. I recently got into falconry and my whole lifestyle has changed, so my home is no longer suitable for foster birds. I no longer breed any birds, either.
