Additional Comments
This is a baby Congo African grey parrot, hatched on May 31, 2024.
By now it is essentially on a full seeds and veggie (and table scraps) diet. Every other day, we still top it off with a single feeding of formula just because it’s only three months old.
I don’t know the gender, but I plan to find out Lord willing before it’s sold.
Congo African gray parrots are considered a medium sized hook bill (aka parrot).... (read more) If you have experience with parrots, then I believe parrot behavior is largely standard. They are highly trainable, highly intelligent, and have a huge array of personalities. Among the parrot species, African gray parrots are considered to be one of the most intelligent of the different parrots. Please look up the African grey parrot “Alex.” it was the subject of a 30 year experiment, including Harvard University, ultimately, concluding that this parrot developed the intelligence of a five-year-old human.
If you are interested, please let me know. I’m happy to tell you more. I know about this particular parrot species, especially this baby bird. My children and I have personally hand fed this one since it was about 4-5 weeks old. We are constantly handling this parrot, and my youngest is five years old. It does not exhibit any malicious behavior that I can identify, and usually allows itself to be touched and petted without defensive behaviors.
This is a side hobby for me, i’m not relying on this gig to pay my bills. If you are somebody I know, then I’m sure I can work out a payment plan with you.
As you can see from the videos, we have not clipped its wings. Its flying dexterity is rapidly improving day by day.
I haven’t shipped yet, but I am open to it.
