- Bonded Pair, Rescue
Additional Comments
I have assembled this trio of Conures over the past few years, in an effort to help the first of them who I took on as a foster from a rescue. He was badly plucked, self-mutilated, and wearing a hard-plastic Elizabethan collar. Two of them are bonded friends (same sex, DNA-tested males)—who must stay together—and the third is assimilating into the group more slowly but has made significant progress. It is important that these three stay together.... (read more) The first one was a plucker and self-mutilator, which was largely resolved by getting him a companion, but it took two tries, and the third one is part of their dynamic now, too. Both companions are Brown-throated Conures.
Each is hand tame, but on their own terms. "Step up?" is a request, not a command. They are not cuddly parakeets. Each is a bit more of a parrot's parrot, than a people parrot. A suitable home would be one where their keeper enjoys seeing them interact and interacting with them on their terms.
All three have had full wellness exams, with comprehensive blood "labs", by an avian veterinarian.
I am not a formal parrot rescue, but I will be screening candidates similarly. I will also require "facetime" video sessions (via Zoom perhaps), where I show you their setup and you show me yours. If you are not willing to do that, please do not reply to this ad.
The 'Price' is for all three, and does not even cover what has been invested in getting them together and vet exams. A significant portion of their rehoming fee will go to the rescue where I got the first and second Conure. (The third came from here on BirdsNow.)
Shipping Notes
I will not "ship" these Conures; however, I am open to the use of CitizenShipper if a "Solo Ride (VIP)" is used, which means no other animals in the vehicle, just the three Conures.
