Additional Comments
This proven cinnamon male kakariki is looking for a new home. He is approximately one year and six months old. He was hand-fed and is tame though can be territorial of his cage when in breeding mode. He is a proven father and has raised two clutches of chicks for me. His mate is still alive and well. I am parting with him because I would like to decrease the amount of cinnamon mutation in my kakariki flock. He is in perfect feather condition. He is not a bird that I personally bred myself, and is not banded.... (read more) I purchased him as a baby and finished hand-feeding him. He would make a good breeder or could be a pet as well, he loves interaction and is very comical. Price is $350. Shipping is available via Delta Airlines Cargo for a flat rate of $180. USPS shipping is not available.
Sales Policies:
Please read prior to contacting me as many common questions are answered below.
- Please ask for a list of references before purchase if you would like to confirm New Eden's legitimacy as a breeder and seller of birds.
- Birds may be shipped via Delta Airlines Cargo from St. Louis, MO, for a flat rate of $185; this includes a shipping crate (small plastic and metal pet taxi) prepared to Delta's specifications which you may keep. Live animal shipping with Delta Airlines Cargo is same-day. If a Delta Airlines Cargo flight exists between our airport (STL) and an airport near you, you will pick up the bird at a pre-determined time at your airport's Delta Cargo facility.
- USPS shipping is not available due to USPS regulations and inherent risk.
- Payment for bird(s) must be made in full at least 48 hours prior to shipping.
- Unless and until payment is made, birds are not considered reserved or sold to any interested party. In other words, there will be no holds on birds without payment.
- All payments are non-refundable in the event the buyer decides they no longer want the bird(s) purchased.
- In an emergency, a bird purchased by a customer can be physically returned to New Eden, but unless communicated otherwise, the cost cannot be refunded and return shipping or transportation will not be paid for by New Eden.
- Please note that because raising birds is not our full-time job and because more urgent life events may manifest that have to take precedence, shipping dates may be subject to rescheduling. Rescheduling within a reasonable time frame (two weeks or less) is not considered by New Eden to be a valid reason to request a refund.
- Shipping is not available on Saturdays or Sundays as our airport's Delta Cargo facility is closed on those days.
- Shipments are insured for the full value of birds being shipped.
- We extend a one-week health guarantee. A full refund of the price of the bird will be administered if the bird does not survive the first week in its new home, and a certified avian veterinarian performs a necropsy and finds the cause of death to be due to disease, infection or injury incurred prior to your acquisition of the bird.
- We cannot accurately quantify or make guarantees on level/degree of tameness of any bird. We aim to accurately describe the behavior of birds while in our care, but birds may respond differently to new owners and generally require time, patience, and daily interaction for a bond and trust to form.
- We stand by the statement that our birds are healthy when they leave our hands at Delta Cargo. Unfortunately we have no control over what happens during the shipping process. If you receive birds dead on arrival and there is evidence that death occurred due to mishandling, Delta must reimburse the cost of bird and refund the shipping price, though DOA events are extremely rare.
- As soon as you receive your bird, please inspect and observe him/her carefully and notify us immediately if you notice something amiss or suspect the bird is sick or injured, along with photo and/or video evidence as support. We will work with you to identify the problem, treat the bird, administer a refund, or replace the bird if the fault can be logically traced to New Eden or Delta Airlines. Situations of this nature are always unique and generally unexpected, so we cannot establish a cut-and-dry protocol for every possible mishap, but we assure you that we will respond to the situation in a responsible and reasonable manner that aims to correct any problems and make the shipping process as risk-free for the customer as possible.
Thanks for looking and please message me if you have additional questions.

New Eden Avian Conservancy
Hello! The mission of New Eden Avian Conservancy is to 1) propagate captive bird species which are disappearing in the wild, zoos, aviculture, or all of the above; 2) support in situ conservation efforts in the wild; and 3) increase our collective understanding of avian diet, behavior, genetics, and diseases.
