Additional Comments
Rescued this very loving female two years ago and she is everything I expected in a cockatoo: LOVES to be touched, cuddled, and craves attention. Very comical and curious. She will step up on my finger 100% of the time out of her cage for hugging, petting, and to go to the family room's perch.
We have since downsized our home and we don't have enough room our beloved pet.
She usually has a few plucked feathers from her chest, but it depends on the season as to how much.... (read more) She will not likely have any feathers regrowing on her legs.
She has the best care since we've had her. Her own room that she shares with our male Amazon (in a separate cage), Harrisons Bird Food along with fruits & veggies, filtered water, HEPA air filtration and wi-fi controlled heating and lighting.
She loves to dance and whistle to music, say Hello and wave to anyone and everyone that visits, and is mischevious and very cute. Although she will get on my wife's finger and let her pet her, she is extremely attached to me. She has never bitten me nor shown a single bit of aggression to me - only adoration and love. She has bitten my wife several times, but only when my wife was nudging her to get back in her cage, and once when she was sticking her fingers in the cage to fix a hanging toy. They were not emergency room-worthy bites, but she can really bite hard.
She will determine who she gets attached to.
And if you've ever been around a cockatoo during their 'roosting' time at dusk, get ready for the show - quite a bit of screaming until dark when she is quiet all night.
Her metal cage is 66"H, 36"L, 24"W, and comes with her purchase.
Shipping Notes
I live just east of Richmond VA and would prefer a pickup from my home - her cage fits in the back of my pickup truck or a mini van with the seats taken out but not a sedan.
I could deliver her if necessary.
