These birds are kept outdoors in Missouri year round, as long as they are protected from the wind. We cover their aviary with very heavy plastic and make certain their water isn't frozen. You can also see these giant runts can get along with other fancy pigeons like fantails and Jacobins. They are like a parrot - they'll fly to you; land on your shoulder or head; sit with you at your computer; do everything a parrot would except bite and scream! German owl pigeons are very calm birds with a great temperament, easy-going, friendly, highly intelligent. You can potty train them too.

Shipping Notes

We do ship birds Monday Tuesday or Wednesday when temps are in the 80's. You must pre-pay. They will arrive either at your location or the nearest postal office. We are part of the USDA's NPIP APHIS (U. S. Dept. of Agriculture’s National Poultry Impro

We are an BIG EDUCATIONAL and SMALL RESCUE not-for-profit organization in Missouri. We take in birds from single bird homes, improve their diets, socialize them, improve their overall health. This process usually takes 2-3 years. Founder did rainforest photojournalism for years and has had birds since she was 2 years old. We spend 5 hours daily in our 'bird room' cleaning, chopping fresh produce, washing bowls, and loving on these spoiled birds.
