I have a beautiful 6-month-old DNA-tested male confirmed cockatiel (name: Pikachu that he responds to, or 'baby')
checked with veterinarians with 4+ visits in the past for health and wellness
My baby has been hand tamed from hatch by a friend's aviary
He is very quiet and calm, but playful when he wants to be. He will call you when he wants your attention.
It's easy to do chores in and out of the house while he is occupied with his own activities, or you may take him along with you to work in a carrying pet bag.... (read more) He sings in the morning after a full 10-12 hours of sleep and chirps quietly at night as a sign of happiness. He requires at least 1 hour of socializing every day.
things he is currently trained to do: bow down for pets, step up and down, fly to you, 'turn around' or 'look at me' while perched on your finger, shoulder placement, kiss back, etc.
He trusts strangers almost instantaneously if you can show him you are gentle. But it will take him 2-3 weeks to fully settle into his new environment, and before you know it, he will want to follow you around everywhere in the house.
His favorite and most useful training food is Millet Spray: but you can't overfeed him.
The adoption fee is $250 and I will provide a traveling cage and tons of food: all-purpose seeds, fruit pellets, millet spray --> food that will last you for a year.
I am not willing to just give Pikachu away. This is a special, caring, gentle, and well nurtured creature that you will never find in a pet store. I will need to have a phone call with you first to assure you that you will be the right person I am willing to give him away to, as I am going away for college.
