OFFER PENDING - Will know more by March 30, 2022. Stay tuned.
We are rehoming our hand-tame, DNA-sexed female Green Cheek Conure. She was born April 9, 2021. She has had one vet wellness checkup on January 11, 2022 with an exotic vet, who had no concerns. We are happy to give you her health care records from this appointment. We can provide her birth records too.
Her name is Sulley, because of her turquoise mutation, like Sulley from Monsters Inc.... (read more) Sulley knows and does respond to her name. She will target train, and is potty trained. Unfortunately we are re-homing her because she does not fit in with our flock of parrots, and demands all of the attention. Therefore, we cannot let her fly around our bird room with the other birds because she can be aggressive with them. She will most likely do better in a single bird household.
Daily care includes washing her water dish, chop dish, and changing her newspaper substrate at the bottom of the cage. She eats 1/4 cup of Higgins Sunburst for conures. She likes to bathe every other day. Weekly care is making vegetable chop (or you can make it in batches and freeze it, something we've never done) and washing her food dish. Monthly care includes a deep scrubbing of her cage.
Sulley requires daily time outside of her cage for socialization and exercise. She loves people and would want to be out of the cage all of the time if her humans would have it. She loves scritches and baths! As she is such an active bird, Sulley must have a a minimum of 2 hours a day outside the cage time. She does need 12 to 14 hours of sleep in a quiet room. In addition, because she is a smart, capable bird, and stubborn bird, she gets bored easily so she needs a variety of toys inside and outside her cage.
I am asking for a rehoming fee for $500.00, or $600 with cage. The cage dimensions are 18" deep X 30" wide X 33" tall. With stand the cage is 67" tall. Green Cheek Conures are NOT for those NEW to bird ownership, therefore we will only consider those with prior bird experience with a history of providing veterinary care to their avian companions. We also will not re-home Sulley to someone that is interested in breeding.
I would love to chat with you over the phone to give you more details about her personality. Don't be surprised if I ask you for a reference, what size cage you have (if not purchasing ours), and your experience with parrots, among other related questions.
Shipping Notes
Will not ship. If you would like to met Sulley, we'd prefer that you spend time with her on at least two occasions just to be certain you would like to re-home her.
