Hello! Red-crowned kakariki are hatching at New Eden Avian Conservancy. Two babies have yet to be reserved. They are being hand-fed now and should be ready to go to their new homes in mid-April. Babies will be tame, taught to step up, and weaned onto a healthy diet of seed, vegetables, fruits, and sprouts. They will be closed-banded with the year, aviary name, and a unique serial number for identification purposes. Bird in photo is the mother.
