We got this beautiful boy from a very reputable breeder when he was 16 weeks. With large bird experience we were able to get him a little early and continue his formula feeding.... (read more) He says many words now and is very interactive. He is flighted and will recall to my daughter when called. He loves showers, teasing the kittens in a playful way. He’s good at alerting us when somebody is walking up to the door. He loves being on his perch and us wheeling him around the house as we do our daily household stuff. He laughs like a jackal and I can’t decide if it’s creepy or adorable. He gets fearful of new people coming over and if we are holding him he will bite us to let us know there’s danger. Typical Macaw reaction to something perceived as threatening. I’m sure that stems from Covid and the lack of visitors at our house also. He is very young though so I’m sure his fears can be tamed easily with time. He warms up and is friendly once he’s been around others for a bit AND we are not around. He’s protective of us. He’s a sweet boy though. He will come with his cage 45.5” L x 30” D x 71.5” H along with perches, toys, food bowls and paperwork. A close death in the family is forcing my hand in this decision. I am very picky about who he goes to. You have to be experienced in large birds and be able to afford the cost of what comes with having them in your life. I will not ship him.
