I am selling my 9-month-old cockatiel: female (DNA tested), pearl, hand-tame, friendly, playful.

Her hatch sister recently escaped, and I am unable to get her another cockatiel companion. She is thriving without another cockatiel, though, because she enjoys being the center of attention when she is out of her cage in the evenings with me and my husband. She is housed with my canary, and they do enjoy each other's company because they will both be eating at the same time or exploring the floor at the same time.... (read more) That said, I think she would do fine as a single bird if she gets a ton of attention, or as part of a flock if she is not going to get as much attention.

She is hand-tame and flies to the door of her cage when I go to get her. She steps on my hand immediately because she's super anxious and excited to get out. She spends evenings ON me while I watch TV. She will fly to and from me and the fireplace mantle and plays with toys on my lap, but eventually, she'll settle down, puff up, get on one foot, and beak grind under my chin. She can be a little quirky about pets and cuddles, but after she gets her plays and wiggles out, she will let you pet her head, chin, crest, cheeks, etc., and make clicking noises of contentment. I have videos of this and the way I have figured out to pet her--or the way she'll LET me pet her.

She is friendly, active, a busy body, loves to play with things, and loves to be with me and my husband (has no preference). She enjoys riding around on my shoulder. She'll explore the crumbs on the kitchen counter when I make breakfast. She likes to sample or at least smell all of my food. She doesn't like greens yet. For baths, she doesn't like being misted, but she enjoys showers with me. She sits on her rope perch in the shower and lets the water splash on her while she closes her eyes and spreads her wings. Afterward, I wrap her up in a towel and kiss her constantly on her head. Her diet is seeds. She only gets loud when I come home from work because she is calling for me to come and get her. She sleeps perfectly and has no night terrors. I run a space heater to keep her cozy. Her flying has improved a lot recently. She flies around the room like a pro. Her last visit at the vet was several months ago and there were no issues.

My preference is a previous/current bird owner with experience, someone that has a current flock and is looking to add to it, and someone that will keep her fully flighted and in a super large cage AND let her out for many hours a day.
