This is my boy, he’s a great guy and it is killing me to rehome him.
He is a green winged macaw.
However things in life have changed for me. I am no longer home with him everyday as he is used to. When I am home is isn’t caged. He’s used to being out and doing his own thing. Illness has hit our family and I am not home much now days. I love him enough to know that he isn’t happy and doesn’t deserve to be stuck in a cage all day.... (read more)
I am also NOT a big fan of rescues. This special guy is a member of our family, he goes places with us, loves being rocked in the the rocking chair and deserves way way more than a rescue could ever try to provide to him.
He is approximately 12 years old, VERY socialized as you can see from the pictures. He loves parades and festivals. We have always kept his wings clipped because he refuses to wear a flight harness. He doesn’t fly off my shoulders at all, but I’m a helicopter mom and never wanted to take the chance. He has a great personality, says hi, hello, momma, purdy bird, and that’s exactly how he says it, he also says shut up and if you give him something yummy he says “ummmm”. He will eat his dinner right off your plate, if you allow it.
If interested you will need experience with large birds and the knowledge of how to care for them. Different seasons can bring on a whole different bird that you don’t know. You must be careful with them.
If you call me, please leave a message, because I don’t answer calls from those I don’t know.
Also he is a FAMILY a bird, not a sanctuary bird or a rescue bird.
We are located in Winlock Washington.
I’m not a breeder, do to family health issues and me not being home much, I need to be responsible and make the sad choice of rehoming my boy/
